This year’s QBJJC South Pacific Championship was run on the 10th March at Ormiston, Brisbane. CAZA BJJ sent a small team down to compete made up largely of our kids competitors. Dean was our only adult.
Given that the Sunshine Coast Championship is much closer to Noosa, it was expected that more of our members would rather wait for this event.

Keeping the CAZA coaches happy
Yoshi and Erik are always proud of the CAZA kids and this tournament reminded us why. No matter how many opponents you put in front of them, they just keep stepping out onto the mats and going for it.
In the adult divisions, Dean is also a mainstay of the CAZA point scorers. Dean pushes himself pretty hard on comp days, often entering gi and no-gi events in both his weight division and the open weight divisions.
While this tournament served as a warm up to the upcoming Sunshine Coast Championship, we certainly don’t smooth over the fact that these competitors put everything into the South Pacific Championship. Well done killas!
